October is breast cancer awareness month. In this year's celebration, the ICANSERVE foundation recently conducted the "Fashion Can Serve" fund-raising fashion show, with the theme, "Why We Fight," to send a powerful message to women at risk. Luckily for me, I was invited as a representative for ZEN Health magazine.
I was with my office mate, Faye. It was a fancy event. The venue was gorgeous and filled with high class, well-known people. The ticket got us entitled for the raffle promo. Faye got a Bobbie Brown lipstick, and I was supposed to get a free Posh Nails service, but they already ran out of vouchers so they let me choose anything from the options. I picked an Estée Lauder blush which I will write about later.
The show, which is geared towards encouraging survivors and women at risk to continue battling the fight against breast cancer, showcased the works of six designers: JC Buendia, Ito Curata, Cary Santiago, Mia Arcenas, Vina Romoff, and Rosenthal Tee.
Aside from fashion models, TV personalities, parents, and breast cancer advocates and survivors also walked the runway. Here are some of my favorite looks from the show (sorry for the LQ photos; it was a tough competition out there).

Even though Maureen was the face of the show, I must say Pia was the one who really got me stunned. She looked so astonishing and really slayed the catwalk. Now I know that she truly deserved the crown. YAAAASSS QWEEEEEEEN!!!
It was my first time to attend such a fashion event, and it was a really wonderful experience. I hope I get to attend more events like this because I really am enthusiastic of beauty and fashion. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for NYFW in the future. :-)
So, what's your favorite among these looks? Let me know in the comments below. XO!
Beautiful pictures looks like a great event. Breast cancer affects so many in our community it's nice to see the fashion world doing their part to help.
ReplyDeleteI think it is wonderful that the show is raising awareness of breast cancer and using fashion to support a worthy cause. I think it is really admirable of them x
ReplyDeleteGreat event and what a wonderful cause it has been for. Using fashion to support such a brilliant cause, wherein so many women lose their lives and hopes every year is a great sense.
ReplyDeleteSuch a worthy cause and it's so wonderful to see women and men doing their best to shed awareness in hopes of prevention on breast cancer. The dresses are gorgeous as well! Hard to pick a fav :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, total honesty, some of those looks left me wondering "but why?", but most of them were amazing. I love the plain white dress with the thick belt, it was both retro and slick - but still had a modern feel - I could totally see myself wearing that! And the black pantsuit is a great look. Nice to see fashion and a great cause blended together like this!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that it is raising awareness for breast cancer. I think that is great for the fashion industry to help encourage those who often feel so horrible during their battles to be beautiful where they are.
ReplyDeleteI love that this runway is raising awareness for breast cancer. I have had the scare myself and it is no fun. They are promoting feeling beautiful while raising awareness. Love it.
ReplyDeleteBreast cancer awareness is becoming a corporate term these days. Very few efforts are genuinely making any noteworthy change. This surely seems like one!
ReplyDeleteThe fashions looked amazing and I'm glad to read that so many turned out for this worthy cause. My hope is for a permanent cure.
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice when something like a runway fashion show can be used to raise awareness, instead of simply being a fun event to attend and admire the beautiful models and clothing. I think it's especially great that breast cancer survivors participated!
ReplyDeleteI love that this is raising awareness of breast cancer, what a great cause and also a really fun event!
ReplyDeleteLove it
