REVIEW: L.A. Girl Perfecting Liquid Makeup Foundation

L.A. Girl Perfecting Liquid Makeup in LM 955 BUFF

Hello! I have been MIA for so long, I know! And a lot has happened in the past year. One thing is that I finally found a person with whom I'm in love. I don't think I really had to say that, but hey, here's another catchaside from being enthusiastic of different outfit inspirations, I am now officially addicted to makeup and beauty products!

So for my comeback, I'm going to give a review of this liquid foundation by L.A. Girl. Here's a story of how I got this one. I was going to buy their Endless Auto Liner for my eyebrows (I'm obsessed with my eyebrows, tell you), because I was able to try it from my sister-in-law and found it very good and long lasting. So I approached the saleslady at their kiosk, but then she started putting off my eyebrows (which I find annoying because I had perfect brows that day) and then put on a horrible one, plus this liquid foundation and their BT LA compact powder. After purchasing my eyeliner, I was supposed to go, but the saleslady stopped me and offered me this liquid foundation and the compact powder for a sale price of P650+, BUT it turned out later on that it is the actual regular price of the items. So as much as I love L.A. Girl, I really hate their sales talk services.

Now, let's jump on to the review. This foundation claims to be oil free and containing vitamins C&E, so that's pretty good for your skin. I actually heard a woman when I bought this asking the saleslady for another bottle because she said it helped reduce her scars (pekas).

This is how my face looks like when bare, aside from my brows. As you can see, I have little acne visible on my forehead, which is so annoying, because they never cleared up. I think my hair irritates my skin or something that's why they never go away.

Here's how my skin looks like with one layer of the foundation. As you can see, it has very light coverage, that it doesn't really cover your blemishes at all. I also think that the shade might be too light for my skin, but since I was still very innocent the time I got this, I just took what the saleslady had given me.

In this photo, I applied three layers of the foundation, and it just isn't right, because it will leave weird patches on your skin. I'm telling you, this foundation is really hard to blend. Also, I was hoping that it would be good for oil control, but when I was using this during my OJT, my face still got oily, even though our office was air-conditioned. I think it has something to do with the weather here in the Philippines.

Here's how it goes though with a natural makeup look. For this look, I used only one layer of the foundation over my primer, then I put on a matte setting powder on top. So, if you would like to try this foundation out and want to get a matte finish, I suggest you use a matte makeup base for better blending and a good  matte setting powder.

VERDICT

PROS:
  • Didn't cause breakouts
  • Good for natural, dewy look
  • Contains Vitamins C & E
  • Comes with a pump container so it's sanitary
  • Affordable (one bottle lasts for many months)

CONS:
  • Doesn't control oil but may be good for people with dry skin
  • Not long lasting
  • Hard to blend
  • Very light coverage that it barely covers blemishes

RATING: 2.5 out of 5.0

Would I repurchase? No. Only because I have very oily skin.
